| Field notes | Stems clustered, rhizomatous, forming extensive colonies, the tallest stems to 2.5 m tall, 2 cm diameter, green. Leaves 7; sheaths 21 cm long, fibrous, with coarse outer, brown fibers and finer inner ones; petioles 44 cm long; blades 72 cm wide, with 12-15 segments, these with more or less straight sides and jagged apices. Inflorescences erect to spreading, branched to 3 orders. |
