| Field notes | Stems clustered, 15 m long, 2 cm diameter with sheaths with reddish-brown tomentum initially, becoming green, with complete, oblique rings of yellowish-green spines; ocreas very short, membranous; knees absent; petioles 10 cm long; rachis 120 cm long with 15 pinnae per side, these arranged in remote groups, spiny along the margins, green abaxially; cirri 80 cm long. Sterile plant. |
