| Field notes | Stems clustered forming large clumps of 11 mail stems, 20 m long, 6 cm diameter with sheaths, 5 cm diameter without sheaths. Sheaths open for about half their visible length, yellowish, densely covered with rows of flat, yellowish, black-tipped spines with many smalles spines between the rows, spines at sheath apex and petiole marging much longer than the others, forming a dense comb; ocreas 15 cm long, fibrous, soon disintegrating and only visible on uppermost leaves; knees obscure; flagella present, 6 m long; petioles 18 cm long; rachis 280 cm long with 62 regularly arranged pinnae (young plants with irregularly arranged pinnae). Inflorescences to 6 m long, flagellate, with at least three distantly spaced partial inflorescences; fruits yellowish. DNA specimen. “may ngot, may song da” |
