| Field notes | Stems clustered, 1 m tall, 2 cm diameter, covered with persistent leaf sheaths. Leaf sheaths with the apices joined, forming a distinct ocrea; petioles 20 cm long; blades split into 5-10 segments, these green on the lower surfaces. Leaf apices missing from many leaves - local people report they are eaten by monkeys. DNA specimen |
