| Field notes | Stems solitary, 25 m long, 7 cm diameter with sheaths, 3 cm without sheaths. Sheaths green with brown tomentum, with scattered, solitary or grouped, flattened, yellow spines; knees present, prominent; ocreas short; flagella 6m long; petioles 48 cm long; rachis 240 cm long with 46 regulary arranged pinnae, these spreading in one plane. Inflorescences elongate, to 5 m long, with few, distantly spaced partial inflorescences; old pistillate inflorescences collected. DNA specimen. Provides the best quality rattan cane. v.n. “song” |
