| Field notes | Forest on steep slopes. Stems clustered, 20 m long, 5 cm diameter with sheaths densely covered with rings of black spines; knees absent; ocreas short, developed above the petioles; petioles 43 cm long; rachis 230 cm long with 65 pinnae per side, almost regularly arranged, spreading in one plane, the apical ones very small. Inflorescences 700 cm long, flagellate, with 3, distantly spaced partial inflorescences. DNA specimen. V.n. “may”. |
