| Field notes | Plants very common here, dominating the understory on steep slopes. Stems clustered, forming large clumps, 3 m tall (other plants taller), 4 cm diameter, brown. Leaves 13, forming a dense crown; petioles 82 cm long, with spines near base only; blades 99 cm wide, divided into 26 segments, these more or less equally wide. Iflorescences erect, shorter than the leaves with two, branched pertial inflorescences. Fruits white. V.n. “la non”. |
