| Field notes | Stems clustered, 10 m tall, 1.8 cm diameter. Sheaths green with brown tomentum, with downward pointing spines; ocreas small; knee present; petioles absent; rachis 28 cm long with 10 pinnae per side, these clustered in alternate groups of 2-3 pinnae, leathery, the apices curled over, the apical pair of pinnae, joined at their bases, the basal pair swept back across the sheath. Inflorescence 130 cm long with 8 partial inflorescences. v.n. “may tom” |
