| Field notes | Stems clustered, 5 m tall, 2 cm diameter with sheaths. Sheaths mottled gray-green, with black, needle-like spines with swollen bases; knee present; ocreas very small; petiole absent; flagellum present, 1.5 m long; rachis 66 cm long with 10 regularly arranged, rhomboid pinnae per side. Inflorescences 104 cm long, erect, flagellate, the bract subtending partial inflorescences entire, not split; fruits globose. DNA specimen. v.n. “may cun” |
