| Field notes | Disturbed forest by road, limestone area. Massive clustered rattan with stems to 20 m tall and 8 cm diameter (with sheaths). Sheaths brown with numerous, flat, black spines interspersed with smaller spines; ocreas fibrous, disintegrating, 12 cm long; petioles 9-14 cm long; rachis 190 cm long with 34 regularly arranged, linear-lanceolate pinnae per side. Inflorescences 8-10 m long, flagellate; fruits ellipsoid, 3 cm long, the scales deeply channeled. DNA specimen. V.n. “may trau”. |
