| Field notes | Stems clustered, 10 m tall, 5 cm diameter with leaf sheaths. Sheaths green, covered with small groups of spines; knee absent; ocreas absent; petioles absent; rachis 2 m long with 25 pinnae per side, these broadly lanceolate in alternate clusters of 3-4 pinnae; cirrus 90-100 cm long.
