Leaf sheath smooth, green, 1 m long; petiole 30 cm long, rounded below, channelled above, with yellowish stripe on lower surface, densely covered above and below with blackish scales; rachis ridged above, less densely covered with scales; pinnae 45 per side, the lower ones widely spaced, 9 cm apart, 105 cm long, 4 mm wide; middle pinnae 4 cm apart, 84 cm long, 3 cm wide; rachis 2 m long; contemporary leaves 9; lower 5 cm of mdrib scarcely covered with scales. Infrutescence 70 cm long; peduncle 7 cm long, 4 cm wide, dorsoventrally compressed, lowermost rachillae subtended by brown bracts, the lower 4 cm long; fruit globose, light green, 12 mm long, stigmatic residue suapical.
