| Field notes | Stem solitary, 12 m long, 1.5 cm diam without leaf sheaths, 8 cm diam with leaf sheaths, but covered by persistent leaf bases. Leaves ± 49; sheath 60 cm long; petiole a mass of fibers and spines; rachis 1.1 m long; cirrus 80 cm long. Common name: jacitara. |
