| Field notes | Stem solitary, 3.3 m tall, 4 cm diam, spiny on the internoides. Leaves 9; sheath 26 cm long; petiole 52 cm long; rachis 1.5 m long; pinnae 23 per side, strongly clustered in grups of 3-4. Inflorescence interfoliar, erect; prophyll 60 cm long; peduncular bract inserted 90 cm from base of peduncule; peduncule 2.3 m long, spiny; peduncular bract 1.75 m long; rachis 46 cm long.Common name: pupunha brava. |
