| Field notes | Growing in tufts to height of 6-7 m, circumference of stem (with sheaths) 46 cm. Length of leaf (+petiole) 3 m, length petiole 82 cm, about 23 pinnae, basal pinnae about 1 m long with 15 pinnules. Inflorescence about 1 m long. Peduncle about 35 cm. Inflorescences appearing from above downwards. The male flowers on each inflorescence opening some weeks before the female. (Cultivated(& also indigenous)). Vernacular name: Tao rang |
