| Field notes | Cultivated. Solitary palm, stem 20 cm tall, covered with persistent leafbases. About 10 leaves in crown. Leaf base and sheath fibrous, brown. Petiole triangular in cross section, 85 cm long, green, armed with spines along the margins. Lamina regularly split into singlefold segments, the outer segment 10 cm long out of which 2 cm are connected to the neighbouring segment, the midblade segment is 67 cm long out of which 45 cm are connected to the neighbouring segments. |
