| Field notes | Terrestrial shrub to 1 m; rhizome short; base about 3 cm diameter; sheath at base brown and glabrous green; first leaf at about 20 cm high from stem; lamina green above, glabrous pale green beneath, lamina rifled with distinct veins top of plant reddish; shoot slightly depressed; ligule absent; no petiole; base attenuate; texture plastic-like and shiny; veins distinct; infructescense pale red, pedicel reddish, peduncle reddish, fruits reddish orange, fruit has a nice smell as well as leaf when squeezed. |
