| Field notes | Terrestrial herb, 3-4 m; rhizome short creeping; clustered shoots, diameter 5 cm, base brown pinkish, silvery hair at part brown; leaf sheath reticulated or netted, stem green; ligule sort of slipped away, margin of sheath and ligule forms tunnel of about 1 cm; petiole reddish, lamina green, corrugated surface, beneath lighter green, covered with fine hairs, tip acuminate, stem netted and covered with fine hairs; infructescense catkin, penduncle purple, pedicel purple, bright orange fruit, dehiscent leaving 3 valves, dark red tip of ligule; has a sour taste, no strong smell.
