| Field notes | Terrestrial herb in clump (<10 cm between neighbouring shoots). Leafy shoot to c. 2 m long. Base to 2.5 cm diam., reddish. Sheath yellow-green. Ligule to 8 mm long, bilobed, green. Lamina sessile, to 46 x 8,5 cm; apex to 5.5 cm long. Inflorescence from rhizome, to 20 cm long. Peduncle erect, to 11 cm long of which c. 4 cm are subterranean and pinkish; peduncular bracts pale brown, tinged ± red. Fertile bract pale yellowish brown. Bracteole pale yellow-brown. Calyx and corolla white. Labellum white, yellow in centre with basal red lines. Stamen and stigma white. Fruit ovoid, pale yellow-green when young, orange-red when mature, warty.
