| Field notes | Terrestial herb. Rjizome creeping (to 50 cm between neighbouring leafy shoots). Leafy shoot to c. 5 m long. Base to 7 cm diam., pale pink when young. Sheath reticulate, green. Ligule to 1.5 cm long, green. Petiole to 3.5 cm long. Lamina 65 x 15 cm. Inflorescence from rhizome, to 14 cm long. Peduncle subterranean, 3.5-8 cm long. Bracts pale pinkish to brown. Spike to 4-7 x 3 cm. Bracts pale green with pinkish brown margin. Bracteole, calyx and corolla pale pink. Staminal tube pink. LAbellum pale pink; lateral lobes pink. Stamen and stigma pale pink. Material in spirit. DNA sampled. |
