Ligule to 1 cm long, brown, pubescent. Petiole to 3 cm long. Lamina to 80 x 16 cm, not plicate, mid-green, pale green beneath; base rounded, oblique. Inflorescence from rhizome, 8 flowers open at a time. Peduncle subterranean, to 25 cm long. Spike 8 x 8 cm (incl. flowers, that in this case makes the measurement wider).
