| Field notes | Terrestrial herb in dense clump. Shoots with 1-5 leaves, to 2 m tall. Distance from base to node to 1 m. Petiole to 50 cm. Pulvinus to 7.5 cm. Lamina to 63x22 cm, ovate to elliptic. Inflorescence appearing from node. Flowers pale pink. Stigma yellow. Fruit red. Taste mild, cabbage-like. Vernacular name: onese(Talaki language). Use 1: juice from stem to cure irritant eye.
