Field notes Terrestial herb. Leafy shoots to 65-135 cm long when flowering, 14-20 cm between neighbouring shoots. Rhizome to 5 mm across. Base 1.3 cm diam., reddish brown. Ligule to 4 mm long. Petiole to 7 mm long, winged in upper part. Lamina to 185x4 cm, narrowly obovate, mid-green, base rounded. Inflorescence from rhizome, 8-10,5 cm long incl. flowers, with 10-14 flowers. Peduncle 3-4,5 cm long, with bracts that are cream with pale purple base or plain brown. Spike 5-5.5x1.5-3 cm. Bracts pale yellowish, base tinged purple. Bracteole menbranous, +/- orange-brown with reddish base OR cream with pale red base. Calyx cream yellow with purplish base (4-5 mm). Ovary with silvery brown hairs. Corolla tube and staminal tube white. Corolla lobes pale yellowwish- Labellum pale yellowish, lateral margin involute, terminal margin frilly: perhaps not fully opened. Stamen white; theca with long brown hairs. Stigma white. Material in spirit. DNA sampled.
