Field notes Terrestial herb. Stilted 5-30 cm. Rhizome green with brown scales. Leafy shoots 10-24 cm apart, to 1.2 m long. Base to 1.5 cm diam. Sheath reticulate, reddish brown when young, green when mature. Ligule to 1.8 cm long, membranous, caducous, bilobed. Lamina sessile, to 30x 3.5 cm, apex acute, young leaf reddish brown beneath. Inflorescence from rhizome. Peduncle 1.5-4 cm long, with dark brown bracts, spike globose to ovoid, 3.5-5.5x3-3.5 cm. Receptacle to 3 cm long. All bracts cream at base, exposed parts green; mucro long, soft, green. One flower open at a time. Bracteole and calyx cream. Corolla cream at base to pale pink, lobes pink. Staminal tube, filament and anther pale pink. Labellum pink, ape recurved. Stigma white. Vernacular name: pacici (Duri language). Material in spirit. DNA sampled.
