| Field notes | Terrestial herb in dense clump. Stil roots red. Leafy shoot to 3 m long. Sheath yellowish green. Ligule to 28 mm long, yellowish green with reddish margin, caducous, +-/ bilobed. Lamina sessile, to 56 x 17 cm, slightly plicate, mid-green, beneath pinkish red and densely pubescent; margin red. Inflorescence from base, peduncle to 18 cm long, +/- horizontal, spike erect, 5 x 5 cm to 18 x 8 cm (when fruiting in lower part). Receptacle 3.5 - 14 cm long. Flowers pale yellow (not collected). Fruit (mature) to 18 x 14 mm cream. Pleasant smell of E.elatior. Material in spirit. DNA sampled. |
