| Field notes | Terrestial herb in clump. Leafy shoot to 45 cm long. Sheath speckled winde-red. Ligule inconspicuous. Petiole to 10 mm long. Lamina to 22 x 7 cm, mid-green. Inflorescence terminal, to 10 cm long, with one branch at base. Rachis reddish green. Ovary and calyx reddish. Corolla yellow, apex of lobes red. Fruit red. Aril yellow. Vernacular name: walam (Kalam language), no use. Material in siprit. DNA sampled. |
