| Field notes | Terrestrial herb in loose clump (to 40 cm between neighbouring shoots). Leafly shoot to 6 m long. Sheath yellow-green. Ligule to 12 mm long, greenish. Petiole 5-7 mm long. Lamina to 95x15 cm, mid-green not plicate, midrib purple. Inflorescence radical, to 12 cm long. Spike 8x2.5 cm, pale red, pubescent. Fertile bract pale pink, not mucilagenous. Bracteole pale pink. Calyx white. Corolla tube white, pink in upper 2 cm; lobes pale red. Labellum pink, darkest in centre. Stamen cream. Stigma pale red. |
