| Field notes | Terrestrial herb in dense clump (< 10 cm between leafy shoots). Leafy shoot 6 m long. Base of leafy shoot to 14 cm diam. Sheath pale yellowish brown. Ligule to 20 mm long, dark brown. Petiole to 20 mm long. Lamina to 1.7 x 0.27 m, mid-green, midrib pale yellowish. Inflorescence terminal, to 1 m long, erect, secund. old bracteoles brown. Calyx mid-green. Flower white, lobes tinged brown at apex. fruit 22 x 22 mm, green. |
