| Field notes | Terrestrial herb in dense clump. Leafy shoot to 2.5 m long. Base to 4.5 cm diam., dark red. Seath yellow-green. Ligule 8 mm long, green. Lamina to 67 x 10.5 cm, narrowly ovate, mid-green; beneath pale; base attenuate. Inflorescence terminal, ascending to 47 cm long. Spike to 28 cm long, rachis yellow-green to reddish brown. Peduncles of cincinni dark reddish brown. bracteoles and calyx pale yellow-green. Flowers cream. Corolla lobes tinged pale yellow-green at apex. Fruit 1.8 x 2 cm, green. |
