| Field notes | Terrestrial herb in clump. Leafy shoot to 1.5 m long. Base to 1.5 cm diam., brown. Sheath green (drying brown). Ligule to 45 mm long, caducous. Petiole to 30 mm long. Lamina to 36 x 4.5 cm. Inflorescence terminal, erect, cincinni distichous. Brateole reddish. Flowers in bud, plain pale bluish green. Fruit 13 x 15 mm, orange. |
