| Field notes | Terrestial herb in clump. Leafy shoot to 3 m long. Base to 7 cm diam., reddish. Sheath orange-red. Ligule to 14 mm long, orange-brown. Lamina sessile, to 120 x 18 cm. Inflorescence terminal, erect. Peduncle to 20 cm long. Spike to 40 cm long. Bracteole plicate, pale yellow-green when young, brown when old. Flower cream. Fruit to 13 x 20 mm, globose, green. |
