| Field notes | Terrestial herb. Rhizome to 12 mm diam., brownish, raised +/- 50 cm above ground by stilt roots. Leafy shoots 5-18 cm apart, to 1.8 m long. Base to 2 cm diam., brownish. Sheath pale green. Ligule to 12 mm long, reddish brown. Lamina sessile, to 18.5x5 cm, dark green; beneath pale green. Inflorescence from rhizome, to 11.5 com long, +/- erect. Peduncle to 7 cm long; scales pale green. Spike 4.5x4 cm. Bracts reddish brown, rigid. Sterile bracts green with red margin. Feertile bract cream to pale pinkish red at apex. Bracteole, calyx, and corolla cream. Labellum pink. Filament white. Anther and stigma pink. Materilal in spirit. DNA sampled. |
