| Field notes | Large terrestrial herb. Caulescent to 4.5 m, sometimes terminated by an inflorescence. Petiole to 1.1 m. Lamina to 3 x 0.7 m, base oblique. Inflorescence pendulous, to 1 m long. Peduncle 40 cm. Spike 60 x 55 cm with 13, distichous, green bracts, to 34 cm, with c. 18–20 flowers. Ovary bright yellow. Corolla and fertile bract pale yellow, greenish at apex. Fruit yellow going orange when mature. Photographed. Material in spirit. DNA sampled. |
