| Field notes | Terrestial herb in clump (3-12 cm between neighbouring). Leafy shoot to 3 m tall. Base 3-4 cm diam., green. Sheath green. Ligule 9-10 mm long, pale green. Petiole 0-3 mm long. Lamina to 54 x 15 cm, plicate. Inflorescence terminal, pendulous, to 22 cm. Bracts pale green OR pale reddish to reddish brown. Bracteole pale yellow OR reddish brown. Calyx white OR reddish. Corolla plaim white. Fruit cream OR purple red. |
