| Field notes | Terrestrial herb to 1.8 m tall, in dense clump. Leafy shoot with 2–6 leaves, distichous. Petiole to 1.35 m. Pulvinus to 8.5 cm, brownish green. Lamina to 55 x 20 cm, narrowly ovate, plicate, mid-green. Inflorescence central in leafy shoot, leafless rarely with terminated by normal leaf. Peduncle to 135 cm; inflorescence congested. Bract yellow-green but some going brown. Corolla lobes purple-brow. Labellum cream. Staminodes pale pink. Fruits red, opening in 3 parts, elongate. Also observed at 400 m. Photographed. Material in spirit. DNA sampled. |
