Field notes Terrestial herb to 2.5 m tall. Shoots in clump (5-12 cm between neighbouring shoots). Leafy shoot to 3.7 m long. Base to c. 4 cm diam., pale green. Sheath dark green. Ligule ti 15 mm long. Petiole c. 1 cm long. Lamina to 53 x 12.5 cm, narrowly ovate, slightly plicate, dark green. Inflorescence terminal, with 2 branches, axis pale yellow-green; supporting bracts dehiscent (not seen). Cincinni plain white except for: pale yellow-green ovaruy; labellum with purple stripes in centre; lateral staminoides faintly red. Labellum deeply bilobed; each sub lobe 2-3 lobed; lateral staminoides +/- emarginate. Fruit 2.8 x 2.1 cm, ellipsoid, pendulous, red when mature (green to yellow when young) soft and spongy with 4 brown seeds.
