| Field notes | Terrestial herb to 2.5 m long, in loose clump (to 15 cm between neighbouring shoots). Base 3.5 cm diam., reddish brown. Sheath green tinged reddish brown below petiole. Young shoot waxy-white. Ligule 5 mm long, pale yellowish green. Petiole to 15 mm. Lamina to 35 x 9.5 cm, narrowly ovate, plicate, glabrous or pubescent beneath. Inflorescence terminal, +/- pendulous, to 22 x 6 cm. Supporting bract, pale brown. Axis, peduncle and ovary pale green. Labellum and corolla pale greenish brown. Fruit globose, red when mature. Material in spirit. DNA sampled. |
