| Field notes | Terrestial herb to 2 m long. Rhizome short-creeping (to 8 cm between neighbouring shoots). Base to 3.5 cm diam., reddish green. Sheath green. Ligule 15 mm long, entire, pale brown. Lamina mid-green. Inflorescence subterminal (to 20 cm below apex of shoot), pendulous to 10 cm long. Axis, pedicels and ovary cream. Flowers cream. Anther pale re. Thecae purple-brown. Young fruit ellipsoid, yellow-green. Material in spirit. DNA sampled. |
