| Field notes | Terrestial herb to 3.5 tall, in clump (5-10 cm between neighbouring shoots). Leafy shoot to 4.5 m long. Base 5.5-6 cm, green turning brown when old. Shath pale brownish green. Ligule to 16 mm long, green, pubescent. Petiole 5-10 mm. Lamina to 72 x 14 cm, glabrous, slighlty plicate, green. Inflorescence radical. Bracts pale brown (not red) with a pale pubescent centre. Flowers plain white. Fruit 2.5 x 1.2 cm plae brown. vernacular name: puangai (Nali language). Material in spirit. DNA sampled. |
