Field notes Terrestial herb to 2 m tall. Calyx red. Flower white; yellow in throat and beneath anther crest. Vernacular name: kokomits (Birau language; informant from Guadalcanal; the inside part of the stem boiled and used to prepare a drink against flu); kalakambuka (Bambatan language informed by Miori Sualalu from NW Choiseul). Material in spirit. DNA sampled.
