Field notes Terrestial herb to c. 3 m. Single stem c. 2 m with up to 7 branching shoots, each up to 1.7 m long. Inflorescence to 30 x 12 cm. Bracts spiraling, reddish brown with yellowish green margin; soon decomposing, turning brown. Flowers cream yellow, pale at apex incl. stamen and stigma. Vernacular name: oke oke (Bauro language, Mamarego dialect; menas pulling, used to feed the pigs). Material in spirit. DNA sampled.
