| Field notes | Terrestrial herb 2-3 m, in clump. Leafy shoot with c. 28 leaves; base 3 cm diam., reddish. Sheath green tinged red especially in lower part. Ligule 5 mm, deeply emarginate. Petiole 5 mm, swollen. Lamina to 40 x 8 cm. Inflorescence to 1 m, all red. Spike to 18 x 2.5 cm. Flowers cream-white. Labellum dark purple, lateral lobes white. Anther crest dark purple. Fruit pale red, opening in 3 valves. Vernacular name: lampuyang (Sundanese). Deposited at: AAU, BO, E. Material in spirit. Photographed. DNA sampled. |
