| Field notes | Terrestrial herb to 2 m in a dense clump. Base of leafy shoot and sheath pale green; 16 leaves per shoot. Ligule to 11 cm, membranous, caducous. Petiole to 9 cm. Lamina plicate, plain green, pale beneath. Inflorescence from base of leafy shoot, mucilagenous. Peduncle 6.8 cm. Spike (with fruits at base) to 9 x 12 cm, receptacle 6.5 cm. Bracts pale green to pale red (older). Dorsal corolla lobe cream. Labellum dark purple, white at base, speckled. Anther cream, apex of crest purple. Fruit when young cream to pale green with pale orange apex. Mature fruit opens in 3 valves, pale orange outside, bright orange inside. Deposited at: AAU, BO, E, Andalas University.
