| Field notes | Terrestrial herb to c. 2.5 m, in clump of 5 leafy shoots each with up to 12 leaves. Base 3.5 cm diam., cream-brownish. Ligule c. 5 mm. Petiole to c. 4 cm. Lamina to 90 x 16 cm, slightly plicate, plain green - pale beneath. Inflorescence appearing 25 cm above the base of the leafy shoot. Spike to 10 x 6 cm. Bracteole and calyx creamish brown, margin long-fimbriate, brown. Corolla tube pale red, lobes red, shiny, cucullate at apex, bud red. Labellum red with yellow centre and whitish lateral margin. Filament pale pink to cream. Anther pale pink. Stigma cream. Fruit brownish. Deposited at: AAU, BO, E, Andalas University. Material in spirit. Photographed. DNA sampled.
