| Field notes | Terrestrial herb, in loose clump. Leafy shoot to 4.5 m, with up to 33 leaves. Base 4-6 cm diam, green. Sheath plain to orange-green. Ligule to 18(-25) mm. Petiole to 20 mm. Lamina to 70(-78) x 1 6(-20.5) cm, plicate. Inflorescence from base of leafy shoot, 1 7-28 cm long, with 28 flowers, 2-7 open at a time. Peduncle 8(- 19) cm. Peduncular and sterile bracts cream. Spike of bracts 6.5 cm. Flowers raised c. 2.5 cm above bracts. Labellum to 70 x 15 mm, apex emarginate 6· 12 mm. Deposited at: BKF, AAU, E, QBG. Material in spirit. Photographed. DNA sampled. |
