| Field notes | Terrestrial herb, 3 m, in clump. Leaves shiny dark green; purple below. Young inflorescence 50 cm long, erect, whitish to pale yellow-green tinged pink at tip, inner bracts pink, calyx white. Old infructescence 60 cm, erect; all fruits emptied by rodent. |
