| Field notes | Terrestrial herb, 5 m. Rhizome long-creeping. Sheath yellow-green. Petiole 1-2 cm, sometimes slightly winged. Lamina to 130 by 23 cm. Inflorescence from base, 32 cm, peduncular scales pale yellow-brown. Sterile bracts pale reddish-brown. Fertile bracts similar. Bracteole pale pink. Calyx pink. Petal lobes red. Labellum red with yellow centre. Filament white, hinged anther red, stigma pale pink. Vernacular name (Sunda language): tepus gede. Deposited at: BO, AAU. Material also preserved in spirit. |
