| Field notes | Terrestrial herb, 5 m, in clump. Plant all green. Lamina 80 by 21 cm. Inflorescence erect to 1.8 m, bracts pink, ±reflexed. Fertile bract red with white margin. Bracteole and calyx red. Petal lobes pinkish. Labellum red with yellow margin. Filament white, anther pink, stigma dark red. Vernacular name (Sunda language): Hondje hedjo (hedjo means green referring to colour of leaves). Edible stem, flowers and fruits. Deposited at: BO, AAU. Material also preserved in spirit. |
