| Field notes | Terrestrial herb less than 0.3 m. 7 to 12 leaves per shoot. Base red, sheath green, lamina reddish below. Inflorescence a spike subtended by spreading bracts (one at each of the 7 leaves of one plant), green and purplish (mottled/reticulate). Flowers white, red in throat. Staminodes with red dot basally. Fruit white turning green when ripe. Deposited at: BO, ANDA, AAU. Material also preserved in spirit. Photographed. |
