| Field notes | Terrestrial herb to 3 m. Rhizome long-creeping. Sheath reddish, ligule 1 cm, petiole 2–4-8.5 cm!, lamina plain green, below pale, to 121 by 18 cm. Inflorescence from rhizome, bracts bracteole and calyx reddish-brown, Corolla yellow, anther crest orange, stigma dark red. Vernacular name: teraran (Passir language), shoot and fruit edible. Material in spirit. |
